current obsession: the house that lives in my head

lately i cannot stop thinking about how i want my future home to look. i want every room to feel warm, feminine, moody and slightly over the top—like stepping inside a 2000s music video, perfume ad or somebody’s very glamorous auntie’s house :)

i’m talking dark chocolate wood, stone walls, warm amber lighting, black nouveau flourishes, pink orchids, flower-shaped lamps, ornate mirrors and little touches of leopard print. i want the colors to be deep brown, burgundy, black, cream, dusty pink and rich purple.

the bathroom might be my biggest obsession. i want it to feel like a private spa at night—dim lights, candles everywhere, glass blocks, dark wood, gold details and way too many flowers. the pink bathtub and leopard-print accents are absolutely necessary. subtlety is not invited lol.

for the kitchen, i love dark cabinets, shiny stone countertops and rustic walls. i want it to feel grown, cozy and expensive, but still warm enough for everybody to gather in

dark wood kitchens have my heart

bedroom would have dark wood furniture, pink satin bedding, velvet pillows, a vintage vanity, soft lamps and black floral details climbing across the walls. maybe a little animal print, old magazines, candles and stacks of cds around the room too. everything should feel  collected and personal-not perfectly matched.                                                              basically, i want my home to feel like 2003 never ended... dark tuscan luxury mixed with black nouveau, y2k femininity and a little bit of fantasy.

if my future house doesn’t feel like this, i don’t want it

✦ color palette: chocolate brown + black + pink + gold
✦ dream detail: grand kitchen with a huge island 
✦ absolutely required: candles, orchids and leopard print
