✦ unpopular opinion: cheating should be your sign to leave ✦

i believe you should leave the first time someone cheats. i say this as someone who stayed, forgave the betrayal and was cheated on again despite promises that it would never happen.

while i was in that relationship, i started hating that person for what they continued to do—and eventually, i started hating myself for choosing to stay. infidelity changed the way i loved them, and the hurt turned into resentment, depression and insecurity.

i will work through problems with the person i love, but once they step outside our relationship and lie about it, i have to choose myself and leave.

✦ cancun: paradise ✦

cancun finally happened… and baby, this trip was everything.

the night before we left, there was a little last-minute drama that almost had me unpacking my suitcase before it even made it to the airport. for a second, i genuinely wasn’t sure if i was going—but somehow, we pulled it together, got on that flight and made it to mexico.

once we arrived, the birthday festivities officially began. i had the hotel decorate our room, and i finally gave khip the scrapbook i had been secretly working on for weeks. watching her open it and seeing how much she loved it made every late night, tiny detail and stressed-out moment completely worth it.

the trip wasn’t completely perfect because… are vacations with your partner ever completely drama-free? there were a few emotional moments, questionable decisions and unexpected plot twists, but nothing strong enough to ruin the entire experience. some parts will be staying between me, her and the walls of that resort—and that is all y’all need to know ;)

one of my favorite days was our boat excursion. we met another gay couple who also played basketball overseas, spent the day drinking, laughing and enjoying the water, then stopped in the middle of the ocean and swam over to another part of mexico. it felt unreal.

overall, cancun was beautiful, chaotic, romantic, emotional and unforgettable. i came home with memories, lessons, pictures, a tan and probably a few stories that will never make it onto the internet.

nail appointment movie of the day: deliver us from eva (2003)

while i was getting my nails touched up for my trip, my nail tech put on a classic—deliver us from eva. i was giggling so fucking hard during this movie omg. embarrasing, like a little girl lml

at first, i swore i had never seen it, but once it started playing, little memories came back. apparently i have seen it and somehow completely forgot about it lol.

it’s such a feel-good romance with comedy and drama, with an actually entertaining storyline. and the four sisters?? MEGAN GOOD, GABRIELLE UNION, ESSENCE ATKINS, AND ROBINNE LEE !!! girlllllll their fashion and individual aesthetics were everything. the outfits alone made me want to step back into 2003.

definitely a forgotten classic and a 10/10 rewatch <3

i’ve been following the Lindsay Clancy trial through the free livestreams on the Law&Crime Trials YouTube channel. it has been emotional, disturbing and difficult to watch, but i’m interested in hearing the testimony and seeing how the evidence unfolds.

i’ve also seen so many theories and questions online about the reported sequence of events and her injuries. some details are difficult for me to understand, especially considering her medical background. however, internet theories aren’t evidence, so i’m trying to keep an open mind, listen to what is actually presented in court and wait to see what the jury decides.

me and my boo are still making our way through pretty little liars. even though this is probably my fourth or fifth rewatch, the drama, outfits, secrets and overall early-2010s feeling still hit every time. rosewood will always have me seated <3

i’m a working woman, so we normally watch it together over the phone at night before bed—sadly, we’re long distance. we only get through about three episodes each night, but we’re almost finished with season one! currently on S1E18 :)

i really want to see the new spider-man movie, but TikTok keeps spoiling everything. at this point, i’m either going to wait until it reaches streaming or go see it at the drive-in and make a cute night out of it.

after that, i’m starting my Marvel movie marathon so i can be fully prepared for Avengers: Doomsday in December :)
